First Thanksgiving

For Brian's first Thanksgiving, we had quite a week.  First, his great grandmother on Cory's side (Grammy) came to visit for a whole week.  Then Brian's grandparents Brenda and Dell (Cory's parents) drove over on the day before Thanksgiving so we could have his whole immediate family here for the holiday.  We shared a meal with Brian's grandma Amy and Papa Chuck (my parents) before they left town for a Thanksgiving adventure.  On Thursday, Cory grilled chicken and steak and veggies on the grill out back, and Grandma Brenda baked an apple pie.  We enjoyed a wonderful, Rasmussen style Thanksgiving.  Of course, I didn't take any actual pictures of Thanksgiving.  I did, however, take lots of family pictures while they were all here.  The highlight was the 4 generation pictures we got.

Ah, the fascination of a fan!  It doesn't matter if it's a ceiling fan, or an oscillating fan, or apparently the vent fan in the motor home - Brian (and his Dad) are enthralled!

Here is Brian with Grandpa Dell (and our puppy Fritz)

And here is Brian with Grandma Brenda (and Grammy in the background)

And some sweet pictures of Grammy with Brian

I really like this one of him sitting up.  It was about 32 degrees out this morning, so we bundled him up in his "moose" outfit.  :)

Grandpa Dell and Grandma Brenda, checking him out!

Week 8 - getting so big!

This week found us visiting with family and enjoying our first Thanksgiving with Brian.  I'll post those pictures separately since I have so many from this week.  Here I'll post all the just Brian or just our family of three pictures.  There are plenty of those!

First, here's a video of him kicking and stretching.  Password is kick

Brian is really enjoying his baths now!  He loves to play in the warm water

Grandma Brenda and Grandpa Dell brought Brian this "Bumbo" chair that lets him sit up.  It's awesome, and he really loved it!

Chillin' in his swing - with his legs crossed and a very nonchalant look on his face!

Sleeping on Daddy's chest.  This is the "Dad's Team" outfit, but I didn't get a picture of the front.  It's still too "big" but already too short, so I doubt this one will get much air time.

A cute little grin - too bad the cell phones don't take great pictures in low light!

Sleeping on Daddy's chest - wait, this is looking familiar.  I love it when they snuggle like this!

My little Zag!  I am an Alum of Gonzaga University and I picked up this great outfit when I was up in Spokane this summer.  He looks so cute in it!

Ah, the mom recliner.  Best on the market!

We got a new crib mobile for Brian this week, and it's wonderful.  The animals are hanging from the "leaves" by two strings, and as the leaves rotate around, the animals "flip" which gives him something to watch.  I'll get a good video one of these days.

While sitting in the car with him during a recent shopping excursion, he decided to try sitting up on his own. He was pushing off of my legs and leaning up against the seat in front of me.  He made some great faces while he was doing it!

Just a picture of my boys.  Love my boys!

I love this outfit!  And he was making some great faces.

Week 7 - meeting my Grammy!

This week found us bringing Grammy out to visit from Odessa, TX.  Who is Grammy, you ask?  Grammy is Cory's grandmother, and Brian's great grandmother.  But we don't call her that.  We call her Grammy!  She's a wonderful woman who is very special to Cory, and we brought her out here for her birthday to stay with us for a week.  And we've been having a blast!   I've uploaded a video of Grammy holding Brian and rubbing his feet (which he now loves).  The password is "feet"

We also purchased a new play gym for Brian to enjoy.  It's space themed, and it moves around which makes it lots of fun to play with.  Here's a video of Brian enjoying his time playing with it. Password is "space"
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.  (Sorry there are lots.  I couldn't narrow it down this week!)

One of the things we're working on is getting Brian to take a bottle. He's not sure he likes the idea, but Cory has been able to feed him a few times successfully and it's wonderful to watch them bonding this way. Brian has 3 weeks left to get used to this, as he'll have to take a bottle during the day when I go back to work.

Hanging out in his bouncy seat.  Thanks Uncle Scott!

Here are pictures from when Grammy first arrived at our house.  She's meeting Brian for the first time.

Here's one of them all curled up together on the couch.

And another sweet moment between Grammy, Daddy, and Brian.

Ready to go to Galveston with Daddy and Grammy.  Looking handsome!

This is a picture in front of the Texas A&M Galveston ship where they train merchant marines.  It's big!  And it's right behind the building where Cory goes to class.

While we were waiting for Daddy to get out of class.  Go Zags!!

So which fist is more tasty?  I wonder if he figured it out.  He kept going back and forth between them!

The four of us went to The Spot in Galveston for lunch.  Brian slept through it (what a wonderful little man).  The view was beautiful!  It was about 68 degrees with just a little breeze.

Here's a random picture (in the grocery store!) showing the cute, worried look he gets on his face.  He wrinkles up his forehead and raises one eyebrow.  Of course, his eyebrows barely have any hair and are so light it's hard to tell what he's doing in this picture.  But trust me, it's cute.  :)

I discovered a great new thing.  A mobile mobile!  It's small and straps to his car seat or stroller, etc.  It plays music (that isn't annoying) and has dangly soft animals.  It's perfect for long car trips!

I bought this little winter outfit for after bath time.  It works great to keep Brian warm while he's relaxing after his bath.  It's still a little big so he'll be warming up in it all winter, so I'm sure you'll see more of it.  Here he's trying to figure out the hood.  "Hey mom, is that something I can eat?"

Papa Chuck's parents (that would be Brian's great grandparents) Stan and Ellie sent us this adorable outfit for Brian.  Here's a picture with Brian and I and Grandma Amy and Papa Chuck.

Here are a few stills from playing on the new space mat.  He really likes it!

A new picture of him in his swing.  He certainly loves swinging!

Some sweet pictures of Brian and his Daddy!  Unfortunately, this very cute little outfit is going to get retired soon and he's just too long for it anymore!

And some more random Brian and Grammy pictures.  He really loves his Grammy!
