Week 30 - crawling! pulling up! eating yogurt! good week :)

<<<Edit: Don't miss the videos I posted - you'll have to look at the next page since I put so much in this post!>>>

This was a fun week.  Lots of firsts.  This week he crawled productively, forward.  He's now definitely mobile!  He also really pulled up by himself this week (and really wants to stand up even when there's nothing to pull on) so I'm sure he'll be standing and walking soon.  He already likes to try to walk when we hold his hands.  He actually marches, with high knees for most of his steps.  He discovered laundry baskets to play in, and emptying out his toy box. We also let him try Cherry Berry vanilla yogurt this week, which he loved!  And he discovered sitting up in his crib.  The first time he did that was just weird - I walked in to get him and he was sitting there looking at me.  Weird!  And then the next time he was sitting up trying to use the mobile to pull himself up on (and of course it was clicking like crazy because he wasn't letting it turn).  So, no more mobile!

Enjoy the pictures...

Bananas - a new favorite.  Tied with sweet potatoes for his favorite.

Our bare-chested baby Brian, showing off his baby blues!  (This was after a dip in the pool, hence the really wet diaper ...)

Laundry baskets - oh goody!

And big red bottles!

Cereal - quite a mess, but he seems to like it.
And Peas ... look Gram, my face matches my bib!

Cherry Berry - for the first time!

Chewing on the arm of Gram's rocking chair

Miscellaneous smiley pictures

Here is his discovery of the mobile - and the last time it was in the crib!

Laundry.  Yes, Brian, this is what goes in that laundry basket that you like so much.  Not quite as much fun, but ...

This (admittedly long) set of pictures were taken by Cory.  He got some fun pictures of Brian and I together.  I love the ones where he's pinching my cheeks, and hugging on me.  Such a sweet boy!

Sippy cup.  And the crazy foot that always works its way into everything!

Sitting in his bouncy chair.  No really, sitting up in his bouncy chair.  It's not a recliner any more ...  Thankfully there is a seatbelt!

Look how big he is now.  His legs actually bend and reach the foot rest in this stroller now!

Ah, the swing!  We're going to have lots of good days in the swing, I think.

And here he is emptying out the toy basket!

Meeting a new friend.  Our friends Juan and Raquel were at the station and their daughter Jessica brought her daughter Khloee over while we were there.  She is 10 and a half months old.  Brian is bigger.  :)

And a cute shot of Brian and Papa Chuck hanging out one afternoon.

Some videos from the last few weeks

I've uploaded some more videos ... enjoy these random snippets of Life with Brian!

Here he is eating bananas for the first time. This and sweet potatoes are his favorite flavors so far.

Some bath time fun!

Random play - with the gatorade bottle. Notice how he's using his feet like another set of hands? Our little monkey loves to do that!

And last but not least - we were at Cherry Berry (the local self-serve yogurt place) and we let Brian try some vanilla yogurt. He made some really cute faces while he was getting used to the cold. He seemed to like the flavor. You should have seen when we tried a little bit of strawberry - I didn't get it on camera, but he spit it out like we'd given him broccoli or something ...

Week 29 - more food and more fun

So week 29 was a blur ... a blur of more food, and more fun.  We discovered plastic pop bottles as an outstanding toy.  Who knew they'd be so much fun.  And laundry baskets - that's a passion that started in week 29 and is carrying on ... We also got out the (marginally creepy looking) glow worm one night.  Mirrors are also quite entertaining now.  Otherwise, nothing spectacularly exciting other than that our boy is growing healthy and happy and we are loving every minute of it!  Here are the pictures ...

First picture with a laundry basket.  First of many to come, I'm sure!

A new teething toy - the top ring from the "too noisy to play with right now" toy we bought him!

Here's one of those fascinating bottles I mentioned.  Yes, I realize it is not a pop bottle, but it's the idea that counts!

Our well-traveled little man at Pei Wei in Pearland and Fuddruckers in Lake Jackson.  He loves to people watch ...

Ah, the glow worm.  This picture reminds me of his 3d pictures from before he was born. Here's one of the 3d shots from July of last year - 27 weeks pregnant.  Pretty cool!

A miscellaneous assortment of pictures of our sweet boy

Behold, the power of the mirror.  Brian loves to play with that baby in the mirror ... it's a good thing he always shows up when Brian does.  :)

Peas!  One of his favorite flavors at this point in time.

Wrestling the pillow pet turtle.  Notice he's holding it with his foot, too?

 Miscellaneous shots from playing.
This is the toy that "Aunt" Teresa loaned us from when her kids were little.  It still works after 15 years!

The box was more fun than all those colorful (and noisy!) toys in the background...

Our little man, made in the USA!

 So cute when he's sleeping.

Strolling through the neighborhood with Gram!

Tags!  Everything has a tag.  And he wants to read (and chew on, and pull) all of them!

Brian enjoys riding in the cart most anywhere we go, but the red ones at Target seem to be the best.

Some miscellaneous pictures of Brian with his Gram and Papa Chuck!

Our little show-off.  He knew I was trying to get a picture of him, so he posed. :)
