December 2011 (15 months)

I'm so far behind on pictures (again) that I decided to make a change - to make my life a little easier.  I'm now just keeping track of what calendar month it is.  So, here are December's pictures.  I'll just post the highlights and put the rest up on the picasa site - you can browse through them all by clicking this link (https://plus.google.com/photos/102242767696213726530/albums/5719589062401400033?authkey=CJSv6MD955uNOg).  Enjoy!

First snow - 12/5/11
Of course, Brian was a little under the weather and it didn't really accumulate, so there wasn't any real playing in it.  We also had snow over Christmas (again B was sick)

Favorite random picture of the month.  Usually Brian is a blur and you can see everything else.  Here I managed to (accidentally) move the camera at the same speed he was moving, so he's in focus and everything else is blurry.

Random bath picture (there's always one, right?).  Here he's playing with a bath toy ... or rather, with half of my salad tongs.  Tasty!

Theme for the month - reading.  Brian really got fascinated with books in December.  Here are some shots of him reading ...

Second favorite miscellaneous shot.  He's waving at a pigeon outside the window.  Sweet boy!

Some fun ones of Brian and Mama

Some pictures of Christmas with Gram and Papa Chuck.  Another artistic (read: unintentional) effect on this first one.  Brian loves the blocks he got - they get strewn all over their apartment on a regular basis!  Someday he'll want to stack them, but for now he wants to spread them far and wide.

Dirty shirt (and face).  Happy boy!

Wearing the very cool sock monkey hat that Gram made for him.  It only lasts a few seconds, as he isn't into hats at this point in time.  But we got those few seconds on camera!  Thanks Gram!

We traveled to Odessa for Christmas day.  Here are a few shots at Grammy's house.  Another "new" thing for December is talking on the phone (or whatever he can hold up to his ear).

And, he loves Grammy's cane!  He's my little shepherd boy, ready for the Christmas play next year!

Playing on PupPup with Daddy.

 Stockings!

Brian was "helping" Nana dust the floor - and having a great time doing it!  For the record, he also loves vacuuming at this point in time.  I'm hoping he still loves it when he's old enough to do it himself.  :)

Brian was fascinated by this lantern that Santa is holding

On Christmas Eve, the family gathered at Nana and Papa Dell's house to open presents.  Here's a great one of Brian examining Aunt Mary Anne's bracelet.  They share a love of all things shiny!

Helping to pass out presents.
 Here Grammy ...
And this card goes to Mama...  (I just love this picture!)

Shaking hands with Uncle Steve

Passing another one over to Grammy

Pulling out the tissue paper.  This stuff is better than leaves once it's on the floor~

Unwrapping Brian style - from on top of the present!

Helping Nana open one of hers.

Did you say something, Mama?

Sleepy boy was getting silly - and it made for lots of fun!

Another one I love.  Brian in one of the gift bags.  And playing in the wrapping paper with Mama.

 Sweet boy!

Handsome boy!

 Fun with wrapping paper!

Christmas morning - opening stockings.

Woohoo, bandaids!  These will come in handy for sure...

Breakfast at IHOP before we hit the road for home

My favorite toy of all of Brian's Christmas presents.  This is one of those expanding ball/globe things.  I don't even know what to call it, but it's so cool.  When you roll it, it'll expand out then shrink back down.  Same if you throw it up in the air.  So much fun!  Thanks Grandpa Bob!

Checking out his new trike.  That first day he was most interested in the wheels, pedals, etc.  Like any guy with a new vehicle, gotta check under the hood and kick the tires!

And last, another installment of "the best toys aren't toys."  With a living room full of toys to play with, Brian found fascination in unloading the case of baby wipes, one at a time.  He did it two days in a row - until I stacked them in his closet.  Out of sight, out of mind. :)
