39 weeks - moving farther back ...

Ah, week 39 was the last week we were in Lake Jackson.  Packing up the house was an ordeal (to say the least) but Brian was a trooper.  Saturday morning, Brian spent most of his time with Gram Amy in the car (running, so there was AC) as the house didn't have electricity.  They did take a quick dip in the pool.  Definitely an experience - glad we're done with it all!  Here are some pictures ...

Cory's parents came out to help with Brian and packing.  It was an interesting week.  Here are some pictures of them with Brian.

Here are some of Brian surviving the crazy week of packing to move.  He's such a trooper

Gram is always very creative with what she turns into a toy.  Here Brian is riding on an office chair that hadn't been packed yet.  He was really having fun, though it doesn't quite look like it in this picture.
We took Brian to the big Bass Pro Shop before we left town to show him the fish tank.  He really seemed to enjoy the big fish.
Brian slept all the way back.  It was a long week for all, and he was sneaking in naps every time we got in the car, it seemed.  :)
We stayed at a hotel our last two days in Lake Jackson because the power was out at the house.  Brian was happy, even there.

We found time to visit our good family friends Jason and Teresa (and their three boys and lovely dog and cute cat - ok, two cats but the second one doesn't like me much ...).  I didn't get as many pictures as I should have, but here's what I got ...
We went to dinner one night, and it took so long to get our food that Brian fell asleep in my arms, took a nice little nap, and woke up.  Ah, what great service in Lake Jackson.  :)

Packing day, round 2 - Saturday.  No power at the house meant no AC, so poor Brian was out of places to play.  He spent most of the morning with my mom in the air conditioning of the car, or in the back yard.  He did great!  We were all a little frazzled!

Brian and I got on the road to caravan with Gram and Papa Chuck (three vehicles) so that we could make pit stops as necessary for the little man.  (Cory and his Dad followed along later in the afternoon ...)  He was asleep before we got down the street!

We made it to Segovia, TX, where we all stopped for the night in a very nice little place.  It was good to have a place to stop to break up the trip!  Here are some cute pictures of Brian playing with his stroller on the sidewalk outside - already much less humid so the morning felt wonderful!

At the restaurant for breakfast, we asked for a cup for some juice for the little man.  (His was packed - bad mommy.)  They brought me this styrofoam one, which worked wonderful until our little "Buccee the Beaver" Brian took a bite out of it!

In our second stop, Cory, Brian and I made it to Odessa on Sunday afternoon.  Brian loves the headboard in the guest room where we stay.  Definitely fascinating!
