A video and a fun factoid

So here's a video I took one morning during week 20.  It's just of Brian rolling around and playing in his crib in the morning.  He'll do this most mornings, and it's fun to watch and listen to.

And I looked up Brian's height the other day, trying to figure out at what age 27.5" would be at the 50th percentile (or actually "average").  It turns out that 27.5" is 50th percentile at 7.8 months old!  So that means our boy at 4 months and 1 week is as tall as an average 7.8 month old.  Wow!  We love our sweet, tall boy!

Week 19 - trying to cath up!

So here we are, in week 21, and I'm trying to remember what our sweet boy did two weeks ago.  Two weeks, you say.  That's not that long ago!  But it seems that there's something new every day.  What was new two weeks ago is just normal today.

Everything goes in his mouth!  Or at least he tries to put it in his mouth.  This is a new toy from Grammy that Grandma Brenda brought to us.  He wants to get it in his mouth so bad!  But it just doesn't quite fit.

And do you notice how big he is in his swing now!  Remember how little he was back when he first came home?  This picture is from when he was 5 weeks old!

Papa Chuck's cousin Carol and her husband came to visit.  Here's a picture of Brian with some distant cousins.  Or something.  I can't ever figure these things.  We'll just call them "more people who are hooked on our little Brian."  (And Brian was pretty fond of them too!)

This here is "frog wrestling" meets "fan watching."

We pause this broadcast for ... cute!  Hi there.

Brian has discovered that he likes to be up high, and Daddy's shoulder is a great place to watch the world from.

We propped him up on the couch, and he was happy to be sitting there independently.

My Mom has a great old rocker that she's had since she was a girl.  It's just about Brian's size!

I was trying to change Brian - and he just wanted to sleep.

With Grandma Amy - trying to decide what to slobber on next!

Grandma Brenda

Well, it's the end of week 20 (really, 20 weeks already?) and I'm another week behind on pictures!  I wanted to share a few cell phone pictures we got at dinner with Cory's Mom Brenda just before she headed back to West Texas.  I also posted a new weekly picture on his weekly page.  Some day soon I'll try to get caught up with pictures and videos.

New family pictures

In honor of Brian being 4 months old, we decided to get another family picture.  It took a few shots, but we got a good one of the three of us, and one of me with Brian.  Just thought I'd share.  Week 19 pictures to come later...

4 Month Check up!

So this week we took Brian for his 4 month check up.  Our boy is growing!  He is now officially in the top 2% (or higher, that's all the higher they really count) as far as his height - 27.5" tall!  He weighed in at 17 lbs and 1 oz, which is about 80th percentile, which doc said is perfect for his height.  I can't believe he's grown so fast, but at least now I know why he doesn't fit into his clothes!  The 9 month sizes fit, and a few of those are getting a little short!

Here's a cute picture of him at the appointment.  He's found his feet now, so any time his feet are uncovered (and even sometimes when he has socks on) they go in his mouth!

Finally - week 18

I finally managed to sort through the pictures for last week.  Here they are!

Here's the 4 month picture, and another cute one from that "session"

Cory's Mom Brenda came to visit us this week - here are a few shots of her and Brian together

Here they are out walking in the sunshine - but BRRR, was it cold!

Brian loves to watch people do dishes.  Too bad he doesn't like to do them yet.  :)  Here Brenda and Brian are watching Cory do dishes

Brian was playing in his bouncer, and couldn't decide if he wanted to play with the sun or the rattly-thingy.  So he sat halfway between and played with one with each hand!  Creative little boy already.

Superbowl Sunday - the boys are lined up on the couch!  Papa Chuck, Brian, and Cory watching some football

Brian still loves his space mat, but now he really grabs his toys intentionally and does things with them (like chew on them).  In the second one, it's like he just noticed I was over there watching him.  :)

Here's a close up of him playing with the rattly-thingy.  In case you've never seen one of these, it's an egg-shaped toy with small beads in the middle that he rolls forward and back to make a rattly or rain-stick type noise.

One morning we decided to walk down to Grandma Amy's house since Cory and Grandma Brenda were asleep.  It was beautifully sunny, but about 22 degrees F outside, so we bundled up in 3 layers.  Brian loves the cool air on his face, and had a wonderful time listening to the birds and watching the trees.  Definitely going to be an outdoorsy boy.

Random bunny toy I bought quite a while ago (before we had Brian, actually).  I found it this week and pulled it out for him - and he loves it!  (And nothing is safe from being chewed on ...)

And here's a random cute picture of him - just chillin' in his car seat with Larry and the mobile.

Talking to Mama

Well I don't have the pictures for this week ready yet.  In fact, they're still on the camera and phones at the moment. I do, however, have a cute video of most of the different ways Brian talks to us.  He was talking to me while I was taking pictures of him on Friday, his 4 month birthday.  So I took a video, and decided to share it.  Don't mind me being silly in the background - I forget how well the camera picks up my voice.  :)

4 Months!

I can't believe it, but Brian is 4 months old today!  He's changed so much in that much time.  Here's just a quick shot of him today - I'll save the rest for his weekly pictures.

Happy Birthday, Brian.  We love you!!
