Week 52

This was a big week in the life of our little 'Mussen.  He turned one this week, and he started walking on his own!  He decided that the day before his birthday was a good day to walk.  And once he started, he hasn't stopped!  He's really getting pretty good at it.  Here are some fun pictures from this last week of his first year.

Gram and Papa Chuck took us to a great Mexican restaurant and then down to a spot where the Rio Grande is just a trickle. Here he is playing in the back of Papa Chuck's truck.

 Brian decided he wanted to find a new way into the rhino at the playground.  He climbed up from the foot hole, all the way up onto the seat! 

 One night after his bath, he wanted to sit in the sink.  He played with the faucet for about 5 minutes (before he figured out how to turn it on ...)  There are a lot of these, but I think they're fun to look at.  It's fun to be able to see his expression in the mirror!

 

 Lounging at the restaurant after breakfast.  He doesn't hardly sit upright in the highchairs anymore!

Brian is fascinated by our computers.  He now has his own mouse to play with (which keeps him away from mine at least some of the time!)

I was sitting on the patio, and Brian kept closing the door and then opening it again.  He was using the door stop spring as a handle.  And the looks he was giving me through the glass were priceless!

"Really?  Mama thought the raccoon was a squirrel?"

Proof that little kid fingers fit through the protective cover on fans!  And that Brian has so many cute faces that I just can't come up with descriptions for!

Week 51

I don't have any witty stories to start out this week, so on to the pictures!

I tried to spike his hair up, but it's gotten so long it wouldn't stay.  Instead we got a cute curl (and some pictures he'll hate me for someday!)

week 50

This was the week!  The week Brian finally started sleeping through the night.  By the end of this week he was doing a full 12 hours.  It took about 2 weeks for it to be a real pattern, but as of 9/10/11 he slept through the night.  At over 11 months old.  He certainly made me work for it this first year ... but he is worth it!

Here are a few pictures.  Just a few, because apparently I forgot about taking pictures this week.  I guess I was too busy sleeping!  :)

Hanging with Mama - isn't he cute in his hat!  He won't wear it very often, or for very long, but we keep trying!

Playing in Gram and Papa Chuck's storage unit.  Wow, was he filthy after crawling around in there - but oh it was fun.  :)

Some very cool clouds rolling down over the mountains.  They crept in almost like fog.  I got pictures of the clouds.  I just didn't get pictures of my son!

Photo Shoot update

I've gotten all of the picture back from the photo shoot (all 102 of them) and narrowed it down to my 50 favorites, lol.  I've put them up on Picasa, and you should be able to access them using this link.

If anyone wants to order any pictures from this set, the photographer has great prices.  I'll be ordering a few small prints for family, so if you have a preference for what you'd like as your 4x6 (or if you specifically want a 5x7 instead) let me know.  I'm hoping to put an order in with her by the end of the month.

I'll get around to finishing up the weekly pictures for the year (and putting up the party pictures) tomorrow - hopefully.  :)
