14 Months (Part 4)

Riding on Gram's back

So sad this came out blurry.  Love this picture!

An evening with Gram and Papa Chuck

Watching Despicable Me with Papa Chuck and Cookie Monster

We went for a walk on a beautiful fall day; I'm so glad we caught the leaves turning!  The Rio Grande was basically dry, but the cool weather and beautiful trees made for a wonderful setting.

Playing peek-a-boo over the cabinet door at Gram's

Trying to wear Papa Chuck's hiking boots!

More pictures...

Playing in his chair

Pulling Daddy's old backpack around the house, and trying to carry it.

Yeah you, I'm talking to you ...

Rough housing with Daddy - he loves to ride on his back, but he's not very stable yet.

Young Gate Engineer at work ... very exciting work!

Brian wandered off to his room to play and I heard music, so I followed him.  He was playing with his cool, wooden xylophone.

And later I "caught" him reading by himself.  This is a common occurrence now but this was the first time he did it.

Two wrestling matches with the bear.

Here's a comparison picture from the first wrestling match. (April 2011)

Looking out the window.

From the night that Brian learned how to drink out of a straw.  The night started with Brian and Cory watching football on the TV over our table. :)

Brian worked his way into the little space between the wall and our big chair, and sat there and played for quite some time.  When he went down for his nap, I went looking for his milk cup.  After looking everywhere for it, I finally opened the seat of his plane ... he's put it in there with the shapes.

Miscellaneous pics of our boy and his chair.

Brian was introduced to Cuties (small tangerines) when Cory brought one home from school.  So the next time I was at the store I bought some.  He played with them at the store ...

And on the way home ...

And while I put away the groceries ...

He never wanted to eat the one that I peeled, but he sure loves to bite through the skin and eat them like an apple!

 Another miscellaneous cute picture

At the end of dinner, Brian grabbed my arm and pulled me down for a hug.  He was hugging me really tight, and it was very sweet.  This picture isn't great of him, but it's a great memory!

Brian learned to climb up on boxes ... and then stand on them (just like his Daddy).  Thankfully for now it seems the thrill has worn off.

Cory walked in the door from school and Brian immediately wanted him to pick him up!

Playing basketball with Daddy.  Love the look on his face in the last one!

Brian discovered that he likes Gram's cookie dough at least as much as the cookies.  Here he is licking the beaters for the first time.

Watching TV with Daddy.  Notice the feet!

For some reason Brian decided to sit on his truck like it was a booster seat.  I had set it in his little chair earlier in the evening - I guess Brian decided it was too much work to move it.  :)

Playing with the last fluffy dandelions of the season.

(I think he was trying to give it a hug, like he does with his stuffed animals.  Or else he was trying to talk on it like a phone.  I'm not really sure.)

The "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree that Brian picked up on our walk.  It was a remnant of the windstorm that came through, and was very fresh.  He played with it for days!

Driving the boat (or car?) at the playground.  Here's a comparison from when we first moved to El Paso.  Notice how much more hair he has, and how tall he's gotten!  (July 2011)
