First Halloween

Brian got dressed up for his first Halloween tonight, and looked so cute!  He was 'Bones' from Star Trek - the doctor.  We had a fun evening visiting with friends and family.  And Brian enjoyed meeting his new friend Patrick!  Here are a few pictures of us with Brian.  I also posted his week 4 picture on the weekly page (of him in his costume, of course).

Edit: OK, so I stole this one.  This one was taken when we went trick-or-treating at Patrick's house.  His Dad, Matt, took this picture of us.

Check up

So we went in for Brian's one-month checkup (a few days early), and he's doing well.  He's up to 22.5" long, and 9 pounds and 7 oz in weight.  That's still about the 50th percentile on weight and about the 90th percentile on length.  No wonder the newborn clothes are too short for him now!

Three weeks already?

I find it amazing that Brian is already three (plus) weeks old!  Has it really been that long since he was born?  It's almost a blur, and we've done so much with him already.

And yet, it seems like he's been in our lives forever.  How can that be?

Well, however that works I'm thankful for it.  We are blessed with a wonderful, happy, healthy baby boy.  And we're both settling in to being parents.

Today I finally started putting away some of the newborn-sized clothes we have.  Brian hasn't outgrown them in weight or width, but he's certainly too long for them.  He can't stretch his feet all the way out (and that's one of his favorite things to do) so they're being put aside for our next little 'Mussen.  And now he's wearing 3 month-sized clothes.  Happens so fast!  We'll be going to the doctor on Friday and will get new measurements to see how tall he's getting!

Here are some of the pictures we got during week three.

Hanging out in his chair - thanks to cool aunt Julie for the chair!

 Hangin' with Dad

Diaper duty - proof that my wonderful husband helps with diapers!

Feet!  Need I say more?

Hello!  The original frog puppet that started the froggy theme - sneaking up on a sleeping Brian.

Helping Dad study!

So nonchalant.

Smiling at Daddy!  They were having fun - though I can't remember what they were talking about.

Later, snuggled up in the rocker.

And snuggled up with Mama.  He's in a snuggly mood!

Flying Ace, all stretched out!

Stretching out his legs - all these little outfits don't fit any more!  He is just too long now.

The Waldo hat!  This is a homemade gift from my friend Katie, and it's so cute.  Brian wasn't so sure - but it was a little warm for it.  It's a little big, but it'll be awesome for Christmas time when it cools off.  (It cools off here?)  Thanks Katie!!

Fritz is very protective of Brian (as is Bella).

Sleeping with Mom.  I love it when he snuggles up this way!

Growing so fast!

So we went to the pediatrician for a weight check this week, just to see how much Brian has grown.  As of Weds, Oct 20th (16 days old) he weighed in at 8 lbs and 6 oz.  His head was 14.5" in circumference and he is now 22" long!  For those keeping track, his initial stats were 7 lbs 9 oz, head circ of 13.5", and 21" long.  He was born at the 90th percentile for length and about the 45th percentile for weight.  He's stayed right at those percentiles as he's been growing, so he's right on track!  It looks like we'll have a tall boy on our hands!

I've added a second page (see the link in the top left, it's called weekly photos).  Check it out!

Week 2 - settling in!

So week two found us getting more settled in, and finding a routine.  Brian has been sleeping pretty well (though we still have nights) and we're getting used to the way this works now.  We've been amazed with how he tries to hold his head up all the time.  He's such a strong boy!  And he is spending more and more time awake and is so alert.  Here are some of the highlights...

I love to see them together ...

Happy to be me!  And hanging out in his swing (thanks Grammy!).

Holding Dad's hand - he looks so small!

So grown up looking.

And yet so sweet and small

Vroom!

Our little rock star!

First week home

Our first week home was a blur.  So much activity (and so little sleep) made the week fly by.  Except, of course, when it was the middle of the night ...

Here's a highlight of the week in pictures!

Showing off his cuteness!

Proud Daddy Cory snuggling with Brian.  This is his favorite way to be held.

The outfit he wore to his first pediatrician's appointment.  "I'm a hug waiting to happen!"

I love this picture, but I can't get it to rotate right.  It looks way better when it's facing the right direction.  He always has a hand up by his face.

The first bath.  We couldn't officially bathe him because of his umbilical cord so it was a sponge bath.  And he didn't like it much.  A real bath will be better.

Our friend Jackie.

Pictures Cory took of us.  I love the b&w one!

In his sleep sack.  Chillin' before bed.

Hospital Pics

Here are the pictures from the hospital.  I need to catch up on pictures, so these next posts may be a little short on words and long on pictures, but that's what you're here for anyways, right?  Here goes...

Labor ... glad I had Cory there to help me through it!

Such a sweet little thing.  Proud Daddy Cory was there, helping out with the oxygen and keeping him calm while they cleaned him up.
